State of Open Source Report 2025
For over a century, Michelin has been synonymous with performance and engineering excellence. Our Open Source-first strategy is how we embed that same level of quality into our software. Open Source is no longer just a category of software; it is the primary engine of technological progress.
Meanwhile, Michelin has established an easy and streamline process for contributing to external projects. We want to be actively involved in the Open Source community, not just as a contributor to existing projects, but also as a creator of new ones. Our Open Source initiatives are hosted under our dedicated GitHub organization.
Leveraging our Open Source expertise, we are actively promoting Inner Source to enhance cross-team collaboration.
We’re aware that such a cultural shift such as Open Source-first must be supported inside Michelin. That’s why, in addition to training courses, we designed the Open Source Champions Program. It’s an initiative designed to foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technological excellence by rewarding employees for their contributions to Open Source and Inner Source projects.

We are proud to be a member of these Open Source organizations: ECLIPSE Foundation / The Linux Foundation / CLOUD NATIVE Computing Foundation.
